2023 has been a successful year so far for the Paper Bag Co team, with a new website on the horizon and a range of interesting projects coming up, we are looking forward to the future.
With our mission of delivering sustainable bespoke and wholesale bags packaging to some of the UK’s leading brands, we are pleased to announce that Paper Bag Co has been acquired by and will be joining Rawlings Group.
Rawlings specialise in glass packaging supplies and have a rich heritage dating back to 1850 where they started by washing and recycling beer bottles and selling them to breweries. Today, as the largest independent glass packaging supplier in the UK, Rawlings Group prides itself on sustainability and environmentally positive packaging, a value that Paper Bag Co shares wholeheartedly.
Since our inception 18 years ago, we have grown to work with household name brands as well as many independent brands and retailers to create custom bags and packaging that are on brand and made from certified sustainable material. Our founder and Managing Director Jon Marling offered the below comment:

After 18 years of operating, we look back on some of the key milestones in our journey and some of highlights so far, ranging from the launch of Cotton Bag Co to the world’s largest paper bag.
2005 - Company founded by Jon Marling
2011 - Launched Cotton Bag Co Brand specialising in reusable bags
2014 - Achieved FSC® certification
2015 - Celebrated 10 Years of supplying quality retail and promotional bags
2015 - World’s largest paper bag
2017 - Relocated to new production facility in Westbury, Wiltshire
2018 - Invested in state of the art screen printing and digital printing equipment
2019 - Worlds largest jute bag
2020 - Achieved GOTS certification
2023 - Joined Rawlings Group
In terms of what this means for the future, we will continue to maintain our market-leading position and strive towards our goal of delivering sustainable packaging to a range of clients across different industries. Being part of the Rawlings Group means we will be able to draw upon a range of experience from their fantastic team, and we look forward to the next chapter at Paper Bag Co.
