Here at Paper Bag Co we pride ourselves on being environmentally conscious as a business, and we are passionate about promoting the use of eco-friendly sustainable products. In accordance with this we decided to apply for certification from the FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council), which we achieved two years ago. This was important not only for our business ethos, but also to match customer demand as we were seeing more and more requests from customers for products made from FSC certified materials. The FSC certification shows that we comply with the highest social and environmental standards on the market. Since we gained this we have had lots of positive feedback from customers, who like to see the FSC logo on our bags.
Recently we produced a range of FSC certified carrier bags for our client Snows Timber Ltd, a leading importer, processor and distributor of timber products in Britain. They are running a campaign to promote the availability of certified timber to builders, to mark the annual FSC® Friday on 30th September. This is an annual day to promote responsible forestry, and is celebrated by 31 countries across the world. Snows Timber are providing sets of marketing materials to selected customers, to help merchants to capitalise on their investment in chain of custody certification. Included in the set are the brown paper bags we have supplied for them, made from FSC certified material and printed with their logo.
So how are we doing our own bit to promote sustainability? We offer a wide range of eco bags in fabrics such as cotton and jute, which are coloured using azo-free/lead-free dyes. We also use eco-friendly water-based inks to print designs on the bags. Our recycled paper bags are made from 100% recycled paper, and can be recycled once again after use as they are also 100% recyclable.
